The Brief
ESP Play have a great relationship with its local schools and Standish St. Wilfred’s is no exception. In 2016 our representative Sam Nichols met with Rose Crompton (School Business Manager) and ESP installed some of our fantastic playground markings including our famous Multi-Skills that is accompanied with accredited CPD training. This had a significant impact on the school and they we’re more than happy to retain our services for their next project which was completed this summer.
Standish St. Wilfred’s have a great outdoor space. However, Rose explained how underused and unloved one of the garden areas were. They had ideas to use the space to provide a sheltered area for the children and staff to utilise during lesson, breaks and lunchtimes. They also had an existing grass space on their school playground that was constantly out of bounds due to the bad weather, therefore reducing the free space the children had to burn off their high levels of energy. There was also issues with uneven ground, tree roots and creating an area that captured their vision whilst sticking to the budget provided.
A combination of our Sales, Design and Installation teams allowed ESP to create a plan that met each of these expectations. The shelter area has been a welcome addition by the staff and pupils acting as a true extension of the classroom. The rubber mulch we installed onto the main playground has extended the overall available space for the children and made their existing ‘quiet area’ usable all year round.
